The region, known for growing Arabica coffee red bourbon variety, receives cherries from 400 coffee growers belonging to the cooperative named "Terimbere" (Let's Move Forward) in Kirundi. Women empowerment is emphasized, encouraging their involvement in coffee production from seed to harvest. Cherries are carefully selected and delivered the same day to the wet mill for fermentation and washing. Gasura stands out as one of the seven wet mills operating in the Northern East region.
