Our Fortin Ethiopia is a consistent fan favorite: The foundation of our cafes espresso drinks and a best seller for home use. It’s one of our heaviest, most balanced coffee; but still beautifully roasted as a medium-city roast. Sip it straight, or with milk as a perfect companion, you will love it either way. First selected when we opened Fortin, never left the menu since, and probably never will either.

Sourcing with Care

The endless pursuit of great coffee

This coffee originates from Limu, a renowned highland region in southwestern Ethiopia known for its washed Arabica beans and refined flavor profile. It is processed at a small, privately owned washing station using raised drying beds to enhance clarity and complexity. Grown at elevations between 2,000 and 2,200 meters, Limu coffee is distinguished by its bright acidity, floral notes, and clean, wine-like finish. It is ethically sourced in partnership with Pure Africa, which ensures farmers receive a living wage above Fair Trade standards and provides micro-loans to support long-term sustainability. The coffee is produced by smallholder farmers using shade-grown, environmentally responsible methods. Protected by Ethiopia’s Geographical Indication system, Limu coffee offers both quality and traceability. This thoughtful approach to cultivation and sourcing makes Limu a standout in the specialty coffee world.
